Wayne County Transit Bus

Wayne County Transit (WCT) provides curb-to-curb service to and from anywhere in Wayne County. Whether you ride for work, shopping trips, or medical appointments, WCT provides affordable and wheelchair accessible service.

Hours of Operation: 6:00 AM – Midnight, Monday – Saturday

The flat rate cost for any single trip across Wayne County is  $2.50, exact
change. A single trip, also known as a one-way trip, begins when the passenger
enters a transit vehicle and ends when the passenger exits the vehicle

How to Register

Wayne County Transit (WCT) is managed by Community Action Wayne/Medina (CAW/M) and powered by Stark Area Regional Transit (SARTA). To participate in the program, you will register with CAW/M, located at  905 Pittsburgh Ave, Wooster OH. CAW/M office hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday. If you need help in this process or have any questions, call  (330) 263-8677  and ask for the Transportation Coordinator.

You may register online OR in person.

You will need a state-issued ID to apply. Registration must be completed at least one week before booking transportation. Please make sure you are aware of our transit policies and procedures before riding.

Once your application is processed, you will receive a personalized rider ID in your mail or email. You will need this number when calling to schedule a ride.

The WCT application will ask you to indicate if you require any mobility devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc.) or assistance to ride. WCT is dedicated to accommodating disabilities:

  • WCT has multiple vehicles with wheelchair lifts. Travel trainers will give an accessibility assessment to riders with wheelchairs or scooters prior to their first ride. This ensures a secure fit for the mobility device and helps plan how to help a passenger onto the vehicle.
  • Personal Care Attendants are permitted to ride free of charge. They must be provided by the passenger and registered to ride WCT.
  • Service animals are permitted

How to Schedule

Since WCT is a curb-to-curb service, you must schedule in advance the time and location of your pick-up and drop-off. SARTA is responsible for scheduling rides. To schedule a ride, call  (330) 455-2292  during their office hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

To schedule, you will provide the times you'd like to arrive at and leave from your destination. SARTA will then coordinate a time window for pick-up and drop-off. If you are scheduling a trip and do not know what time you will leave your destination—such as a doctors appointment—please provide your best estimated return time based on previous visits.

You must schedule your trip 3 BUSINESS DAYS in advance, no sooner or later. Here is a guide:

Payment and Pick-up

The fare is $2.50 one-way and is paid on the vehicle. Riders must have exact change or pay with the app EZFare. Click here to learn more about setting up EZFare to pay for WCT.

Pick-up times are scheduled in 30 minute windows. Please be prepared to board during that window; if a passenger is not at their stop, drivers will wait 5 minutes before moving on.
