ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• To assure that children become enrolled in the program and ensure that they and their families receive services that are needed, or are referred for service throughout the community as indicated.
• To provide assistance in accessing resources and to encourage self-reliance by the families.
• To follow the guidelines outlined in the regulations that assure that the best interest of the families in the program are served.
• To encourage volunteerism with the parents and community members.
• To build relationship with families that encourage positive interactions between children and their parents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Associate Degree in Social Service Technology with completion of a practicum or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic understanding of effective social work practices.
• Understanding of strategies for working with adults.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 0-5.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Own transportation.
• Must be insurable for driving.
• Willing to travel.
• Sensitivity to low income families.
• Available for evening appointments if necessary.
• Physical examination, pre-employment drug screen and criminal records check required.
