ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide infants and toddlers with experiences and opportunities that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem solving skills and creativity as well as a sense of self and feelings of belonging to the group.
- To establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
- To lead the planning of activities that support the social and emotional development of the children.
- To ensure that the families and children have access to all services that are offered and that they are impacted positively by the program.
- To assist in the maintenance of all licensing standards.
- Work cooperatively with staff and parents.
- Assist in developing daily lesson plans.
- Assist in conducting screenings and completing paperwork.
- Ensure the children are safe and cared for at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum CDA with 2 years experience working with children ages birth through 3.
- Must be willing to acquire Infant/Toddler CDA/state certificate within one year of hire if current CDA is for ages 3-5.
- Related degreed applicants must be willing to acquire Infant/Toddler CDA/state certificate within one year of hire.
- Basic understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Be able to communicate in writing and verbally.
- Willingness to learn about position and organization.
- Computer skills or willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds while attending to the needs of children.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Own transportation.
- Must be insurable for driving.
- Willing to travel.
- Be sensitive to low income families.
- Must successfully pass criminal records check, physical examination and pre-employment drug screen.
